Joining a new school is an exciting time for everyone, a time of new opportunities, new experiences and new ways of doing things. For parents, the transfer of a son or daughter to secondary school is a memorable event as they too are faced with decisions to make, new teachers to get to know, and new procedures to follow.
The information contained within this website should help to answer most of the questions a family might have about their new school. Obviously no single source can contain details of every aspect of the varied and complicated life of a secondary school and any parent wishing further information should not hesitate to contact the school.
In welcoming new pupils to the Academy, I wish to stress the importance we give to establishing and maintaining good relationships between home and school. Your son/daughter’s pupil support teacher will normally be your first point of contact. He/she will either be able to answer your query or arrange a meeting with the appropriate member of staff. If your enquiry is related to a discipline matter, the pupil support teacher will pass this on to the appropriate year head.
