Our single in aid of Comic Relief - The Haggis - Number 1 in the BBC UK Indie charts & Number 1 in the Official Scottish CD singles charts - Saturday 28th March 2009
Sales of the single total £3375.79 for Comic Relief

Alva Academy & our associated primaries topped the charts with their CD single in aid of Comic Relief 09. The song entered the official BBC UK Chart Show Indie charts at Number 1, outselling Oasis and The Fratellis! See the BBC webpage at the bottom of this page. And on Saturday 28th March 2009 "The Haggis" also went straight into the Scottish CD single charts at an incredible Number 1.
It's a funny, silly song, with an even sillier dance - think of Agadoo in a kilt & you won't be far wrong! It features backing vocals by every single pupil in Alva Academy & our associated primaries - around 2000 voices in all!

We had a launch party outside the HMV store in Stirling to celebrate our release - where it was announced live on-air by Central FM. We captured it on video here
