Alva Academy - BBC Radio Scotland's Soundtown is launched
On Tuesday 7th October 2008 - we were launched as BBC Radio Scotland's Soundtown! We will be working very closely all year with the BBC, sharing our resources & expertise. Pupils will be contributing to BBC projects both radio & online and in return the BBC will be providing real once-in-a-lifetime experiences for us. We will be involved in radio broadcasting to the nation (and to the world through online radio) as well as taking part in workshops with technicians & experts from the BBC and well as actors, writers, comedians, musicians, and anyone else they can lay their hands on! We are (as you'd expect) unbelievably excited about this.
Keep an eye on this page to see & hear more about what we've been up to as the weeks roll on. There are loads of really exciting things planned for the not-too-distant future, so check back often.

The BBC music video of the Alva Academy band - Haven - has been published
online here
Mr Clifford & his team recorded the song "You gotta have Soul" in BBC's
recording studios in Glasgow, then a video crew came to school to do the
visuals. Well done to Mr Clifford (who wrote the song) & the rest of the band -
great job!

Alva Academy on the TV
